Richardson
Hailed by the New York Times as one of the great dancers of his generation, Desmond Richardson is a multi-talented
artist, a Presidential Scholar, Apex and Bessie award winner, and 2007 "Dance Magazine Award" recipient. He has been
a principal dancer with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Frankfurt Ballet, American Ballet Theater and as a guest
artist with Teatro al la Scala, Royal Swedish Opera Ballet, Washington ballet, San Francisco Ballet.
Mr. Richardson has appeared on Broadway singing in the shows The Look Of Love, Twyla Tharp's Movin' Out (Tony) and
received a Tony Award nomination for his role in the hit broadway show Fosse. He can be seen on DVD in the Oscar
winning film "Chicago," in the title role of Othello (San Francisco Ballet), Patrick Swayze/Lisa Niemi film "One
Last Dance" and the Sony movie musical film "Across The Universe" directed by Julie Taymor.
Mr. Richardson is Co-Founder/Co-Director of Complexions Contemporary Ballet with Dwight Rhoden.
